vld is such a frustrating show for me bc the potential is all there, you can see the traits of good writing (vld is fantastic at trope subversion and subtle foreshadowing) the animation and score are award worthy, but then the actual product is so meh writing wise.

we gave vld two years of our lives for this piece of shit show garbage… lgbt people were the ones who even helped give this show a damn cult following, poc were happy because they had a promising diverse cast, and they promised us they would be happy. then they baited a non canon ship and a canon gay ship where oh, one of them dies, and they’re not even explicitly shown gay. the amount of times adam’s picture or name is shown wouldn’t make sense narratively unless you knew he was confirmed gay from an outside source. lance was dropped. hunk’s family was used as nazi imagery to further the angst. i feel like an idiot for thinking they gave a shit even for a second and this is just so fucking brutal on their parts. fuck you voltron
We’re the audience. We’re the ones consuming this show, and if we say it’s bad….. it is. As the audience it’s literally up for us to decide, they can’t just override all of our feelings and opinions about it just because they don’t like it. If your audience doesn’t like your show, then it’s a bad show!! It’s not complicated.
The fact that time and time again the show runners and cast just ignore criticism or flat out say that it’s wrong is frankly embarrassing. They’re like children that can’t accept they’ve done something wrong so they just ignore you or pitch a fit instead.
